Event Details

Maggie Anderson and her family made history when they lived out a public pledge to support only minority-owned businesses for one year. Every major news outlet - CNN, MSNBC, FOX, CBS, and NPR covered her journey. Their stand inspired millions and sparked a movement of self-help economics, strategic entrepreneurship and conscious consumerism. They called it "The Empowerment Experiment" which led to personal challenges, landmark university studies and grabbed the attention of many in corporate America.  Learn why America needs more measurable Supplier Diversity programs. Join Maggie as she brings a national movement in support of minority businesses to the Bay Area.

Maggie Anderson is CEO and Co-Founder of The Empowerment Experiment Foundation along with her husband, John Anderson who holds an AB from Harvard University and an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School. Maggie holds a BA from Emory University and a JD and MBA from the University of Chicago. The Andersons lives in Oak Park, Illinois with their two daughters.
